Do you all purposely misspell your names?
Call me a stickler for it but I cant stand people who misspell there character names. I mean if the name you want is taken dont add a friggin Z on the end of your name. "Hmmm The grim reaper is taken so... *types* The grim reaperz*."
Dont forget that adding X to beginning and end of your name makes you totally BA.
Oh and if your going to make a Dervish that Scythe is spelt S-C-Y-T-H-E

I'm with you on this one. I can't stand it. I guess the name that they want has already been taken, so they purposely alter the spelling of their names.. and I can't stand it. Just come up with another name, there has to be something else available.

people who mis-spell their names just so they can use it have no originality.
obviously that name is taken, so think of something else.
Like, i only have one unoriginal yet original name
One of my gamer tags is laMent, but it was taken on GW, so i got the name: La Ment.
I just put it into freetranslations.com and it turns out it means 'the lies' in french, which is pretty decent.
(mentir - to lie)

I just kinda laugh when I see these names (meaning im laughing almost the whole time i am in any town).
I also find peoples names to be very helpful in party selection, anyone with a name like "Nub Pwnzr" or anything that is similarly retarded is quickly passed by for someone that has a tad bit more brain power in coming up with a name.

I sometimes use people's name as a judge of character, if they had a name like "Ownin U 4 Free" then I wouldn't think twice about rejecting them.

I too dislike these names as it proves that they're unoriginal and insist on having the name to prove that the person is stubborn and most likely won't work with the group( experienced this too),more likely to bash opposing players in pvp matches (this has been proven lol),bash their own team for one's mistakes, act like they're the best of the best(it's a shame really), and more likely to ragequit, leave at the beginning of a match to grief the team, and leech in either pve or pvp.
Of course, it's my observations so...yours might be different but it generally holds true.

so you're saying that if I have my pve char name Oversized Minion
(yes thats my char I'm not naming someone else) and I'm going to use that prof for pvp but I need to roll a char cause I don't have a skill or runes and I name it Oversized Minion ll that I'm unoriginal and likely to ragequit or be a noob?

To each his own.
You don't like it, apparently the people that made it do. Oh well, life goes on.
I'm the same way, however.

most of the time people dont misspell a word on purpose, its because our creative names cant fit in 19 characters and some times we are forced to take out a word and replace it with a letter or take out a letter and hope people know what the word is

It doesn't bother me totally. I think they are a tard if it's really spelled the wrong way and not just trying to be something that was probably taken.
Also, yes Last Anthem it does.

I think it depends how stupid/obvious it is. My necro is named Per Yngve Oh Lin. The name i wanted, Per Yngve Ohlin was taken. So i altered it.
Would you notice? No.
But yeah the mispelling of common words is really pointless... if you can't come up with something the least bit imaginative (the abundance of the word Reaper, Grim, Scythe, Naruto, etc shows people obviously cant) then at least put some sodding effort into the name.

I know some good people who use things like X's at the start and end of their name.
However, it is really sad to see that so many people can't seem to come up with an original name. After all, they give you the option of naming your characters for a reason, so you can come up with something that you like, not something generic like "X| Warrior |X".
If they really wanted, everyone could be assigned a name, or even worse, just a number, so its silly that people misuse such an oportunity.
Personally, my characters have original names. Some of my favourites are "Curse You" (my main), "Offering of Health" (my monk), and "Gale Phoenix" (elementalist, both are skill names).
It actually took me an hour to decide on a name for my paragon (Tyana Virtue).
Also, when I do the PvE preview events, I like to make a male necro named "Curse You Too".

Please spell it correctly. >.>
And I also agree with the whole, "The name I want is taken so i'll just put some x's and o's and i's to make it 'unique."
Now, one of my characters has a X, only cause Faithful is one word, and you need atleast two for characters. :3
